Near black ground covered corner to corner in chalk: white, blue, red, and yellow marks running in every direction, letters forming and dissolving. A pink form stands at the right; a wheel turns at the lower center; olive breaks through the dark in patches. Blackboard palette, unbroken hand, everything said and nothing settled.
Over five feet each way and the darkest piece in the collection. Made for a study, a library, a studio, or a wall someone stands close to. The dark ground holds a room steady; a light wall around it keeps the chalk luminous.
