The Fire Sermon by Kurtis Brand

60" h × 50" w

Acrylic on Canvas with Oil Pastel and Charcoal

Orange and vermilion held across the full field, magenta opening at the upper right and settling again along the bottom. Paint runs freely—drips falling the whole height in pale gold and pink. Charcoal drawing surfaces in the middle, loose and quick.
One temperature, examined completely. The color does the work; the drawing keeps it from becoming decoration.

Large and saturated. A dining room, an entry, a stairwell—any wall that can take heat and has nothing competing with it. Pairs with white, wood, and space.
