Language of the Prophets by Kurtis Brand 30" × 56"
Oil Pastel on Canvas with Charcoal and Chalk
Grey and bone ground covered edge to edge in written marks, with red, pink, and yellow surfacing through the script. Letters form and dissolve before they settle into words. Muted palette, relentless hand, writing as pure utterance.
A wide piece that rewards standing close. Good above a long console, in a study, or in a hallway where someone walks its length. Grey walls let the color come forward; white walls sharpen the line.
