Story Series: Ready or Not

Story Series: Ready or Not

This is the first in my story series. I have been working for many years on developing codes within my paintings which articulate the language I want to keep moving through my patrons and across the energy of time and space.

Ready or Not

Things are coming your way. Good or bad, they’re coming, whether you’re ready or not.

You can plan. You can set yourself up for things to turn out the way you want. And sometimes they will. The result belongs to something bigger. So the work is in the mind. Keep it quiet inside. Let circumstances be circumstances. Trust your inner voice, and trust that everything works out the way it’s supposed to. That’s what ready means.

Up top, I’m always putting in these flying ships. When I’m painting, drones come into my mind. Something dropping energy down from above. I keep them loose, so you look and say, maybe that’s chrome, maybe that’s anything. Then the rain comes, this acid rain I always do. It’s all attacks from above, from whoever thinks they own the sky.

Down at the bottom are the people, always struggling to climb out of hell, if you will. I always put the hands down there. Reaching. This one worked out really well with the colors.

It’s a battle between good and evil. I’m always painting that battle. The marks are just events, the circumstances that happen in your life. Look at it like a chronology unfolding, with past, present, and future happening all at once.

I work on the wall, standing, so the canvas has already been played with by the time it comes down. Things happen to it the way things happen to you. The lines at the bottom I kept. For some reason, I like them there.

The drones keep coming. The rain keeps falling. Be ready. Stay quiet in your mind.
