Self-Illuminating by Kurtis Brand
33" × 55"
Acrylic on Canvas
Coral, gold, and pale sage washed thin across the width, with three dark strokes standing upright at center and a larger form anchoring the left. Color glows from inside the wash rather than from any light source. Soft palette, simple gesture, generous open space.
Calm and wide, easy to live with. Works above a sofa, a headboard, or a long bench, in a room that wants air rather than energy. The warm ground holds its own in low evening light.
