One of a pair. Its twin is called Emptiness.
Mauve, sage, and dusty yellow fill the canvas edge to edge. Every inch carries a mark: drawn shields and boxed diamonds, ladders, crosses, small figures, script in oxblood and cream running over all of it. Shapes build up and interrupt each other. Nothing has open ground and nothing is resting.
The Heart Sutra says form is emptiness. This is the form half, made as densely as I could make it, so the other painting could be as empty.
Wide format, muted palette, very high detail. It carries a long wall and holds up at close range, where the crowding becomes readable.
