One of a pair. Its twin is called Form. Pale yellow and grey laid in soft blocks across the canvas, with black gathering at the right and along the lower edge. Drips fall through the whole field. There is no script here, no figures, nothing drawn. Only weight, placement, and where the paint ran.
The Heart Sutra says emptiness is form. This is the empty half, and emptying it took as long as filling the other one. What is missing here was left out on purpose. Wide format, quiet palette, low detail. It settles a room instead of occupying it, and works where a long wall needs calm.
